Quick to move on

Why can't we just enjoy what's happening? We have to put up Halloween decorations in September, only to be ushered out by Christmas ones, usually completely ignoring Thanksgiving. And then, December 26 or even Christmas night, down come the decorations. We seem to be so quick to build up anticipation to what's coming next that we don't allow the present time to linger. The exciting anticipation for an event isn't a bad thing, but an acknowledgement of the joy in the moment should be just as revered.
