A new opportunity

I'm excited to announce that I've accepted an offer to become the first Technology Integration Specialist in the 50+ year history of Lewis Central Community Schools This was far from an easy decision, as it means I have to leave the only professional home I've known and a district that has amazing teachers. I've enjoyed working with and being challenged by teachers that will do "whatever it takes" to give the "best of the best" to their students. I would not be the educator I am without them. But this was an opportunity I just couldn't pass up. As I sat in my interview, I was impressed by the teachers' awareness and willingness to share what they needed to maximize the tools at their disposal, including a 6th-12th grade 1:1 program, and a curriculum specialist who talked about the desire that students create and produce more. In the end, a smaller school district and the ability to get in on the ground floor was too enticing to pass up.
